The St. Ambrose women’s cross country team won the Midwest Collegiate Conference Women’s Cross Country Championships on Nov. 9 at Jones Memorial Park. The conference title is their 12th all-time. Head coach Dan Zeimet was also named MCC Coach of the Year.
SAU defended its title by scoring 23 points. The finish was one point off of the MCC Championships record. Mount Mercy finished a distant second with 66 points.
Rebecca Wilder edged out teammate Dominique Guinnane by milliseconds to win the individual crown with a time of 20:06. Megan Miller and Nicole Wager finished fourth and fifth respectively. Nicole Woodall placed 11th to wrap up the team scoring.
The St. Ambrose women will represent the MCC at the NAIA National Championships on Saturday, Nov. 23 in Lawrence, Kan.
